Last Updated : April 12, 2024
Products Affected :

The latest version of Pro Tools (2024.3.1) and HDX systems are supported with macOS 14.4.1. The work to qualify macOS Sonoma has also resulted in significant performance improvements utilizing Efficiency Cores in M1, M2, and M3 systems. See below for known issues. Check back as we will keep this article updated with the latest status.

Pro Tools software issues

  • High core count Intel systems (e.g., 28-core Mac Pro), audio performance degradation can occur using low buffer sizes
  • Intermittent errors can occur when using Aux I/O with the external Dolby Atmos® Renderer
  • On Intel systems, the Dolby Atmos internal renderer UI sometimes doesn’t display balls/text and top/rear views glitches
  • Tooltips intermittently don’t display in the Edit Window on Track Output Assigns and Track Names
  • UI glitches can sometimes occur on some Avid plugins
  • No warning when Voice Isolation Mode is selected for input
  • When high latency plug-ins are present on a Master Fader track, Virtual Instrument plug-ins may play out of sync after changing the H/W Buffer Size or the Playback Engine
    • To correct this issue, restart Pro Tools and reopen the session
    • To avoid this issue, set the AFL/ PFL path in the I/O Setup to “none”

Pro Tools hardware issues

  • Pro Tools | Carbon can experience performance degradation and potential dropouts
  • Carbon Central error status occurs, or the Expanded device is not created in Audio MIDI Setup after refreshing
  • MBOX Studio running at small hardware buffer size can cause playback start issues
